At the Dubai Shopping Mall there was an A380 simulator. It was awesome. I got to take off and land from Heathrow and Dubai airports in fine weather and again in the wet. I spent all my money on it but it was definitely worth it. I was going to buy a metal 777 and A380 Emirates from the Emirates shop but then I saw the simulator and decided to do that instead.
My first take off was smooth. And I would give my landing a 9/10 for an intermediate pilot.
Dad got to be copilot on the second and third goes because I was good enough and didn't need the instructors help. All I needed was a good co pilot to keep an eye on air speed and altitude. I kept an eye on pitch and heading, while also controlling gear, flaps and air brakes.
The view from the pool at the hotel you can see the whole of Dubai airport. We had a swim this afternoon and I saw numerous A380s pass by only a kilometre to my left.
Random fact for the day, there is a really weird pyramid shaped building out my window that looks like something out of Minecraft. There is also another building that looks like Big Ben. The tallest building in the world is very tall.
