The Home of Cricket by Harvey

Ever seen it snow in London?  Well I have.  It snowed just as we were entering the gate at Lords.  First thing we did was go and see the ashes urn.
It never leaves the Lords museum.  I thought it was smaller than I'd imagined.  Then we went up to the pavilion and saw the away and home change rooms, the long room and where the players go out to bat.
We also saw the honour board and the committee room where the Queen sits and where the laws of cricket are written.
There were 12 Australians, one South African and 2 English people on the tour.
I found out that the ground has an 8 foot 3 inches slope from one side to the other.
Lords holds 29,000 people which is the largest ground in England but surprisingly small for Australian standards. No batsman has ever been timed out at lords, however a young English batsman got lost on the stairs and needed help finding the gate to the ground.
Did you know the club has been at lords for 203 years?
It is the home of Middlesex county cricket club.
Ricky Ponting, satchen tandulkar and Brian Lara never made a century in a test at lords.  Interesting.
