Everything else that we did today... By Maisie

This post is so long that a contents page is required.

-Roman Forum πŸ›      Paragraph 1
-Pantheon  πŸ•Œ            Paragraph 2
-Navonna Piazza 🏘   Paragraph 3
-Trevi Fountain ⛲️      Paragraph 4
-Spanish Steps πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ     Paragraph 5
-Getting our portrait drawn ✏️ Paragraph 6

After visiting the colosseum in the morning (see Harvey's blog entry) we walked to the Roman Forum. We saw the remains of what used to be the Roman city. We walked the streets that the Romans would have walked. We saw the remains of streets, houses and shops. We discovered this whole other city inside of the Rome we know today. I found this experience really interesting and I wound like to learn more about Roman history in the future.πŸ›

Then, we walked to Patheon (the church with the hole in the roof as I would call it). We only spent a very short time inside however we did see the drain the water would flow into if it rained over the hole and the fact that the floor is sloped inwards to allow the water to flow inwards. πŸ’¦πŸ•Œ

We then continued to walk towards Navonna Piazza. Once again we didn't stay long but we know that it is one of the biggest piazzas in Rome. There were lots of people and some random clowns selling balloon animals!? 🎈On our way out we spotted a McDonald's and we couldn't resist so we had lunch there! πŸ”πŸŸ
Finally we got to Trevi fountain! I had been looking forward to seeing it all day. We each tossed a coin in and made a wish (which I'm not going to tell because I honestly don't who could be reading this and I don't know if I 100% trust you or not. Even though I really want to tell you... I won't because that defies the purpose of even wishing in the first place!) Anyway, it was really busy here as well and the police kept blowing their whistles super loud at anyone who stood on the edge. ⛲️πŸ’¦

Our last destination was the Spanish steps. They were much grander than I expected and mum took this awesome pic of me jumping! ❤️

Milla counted the number of steps and she tells me that there were 135 steps. At the very top there were several portrait artists and Harvey said that he had regretted not getting one drawn of him when we were at Sacre Coeur so... (This leads us in to our final paragraph)

He looked at multiple styles and settled for the cartoon style for 10€. It was actually extremely funny to watch the artist draw whilst Harvey had no idea what it looked like!! πŸ˜‚

Then Milla decided to get one too!

Wanting to make 3, I decided to get one too impressed by the previous results! My mouth was really sore afterwards from smiling! 😁😁😁 Mine turned out amazing! See below! ⬇️

I was really glad I had decided to get one! Satisfied we caught the tube home and stopped to get some groceries on the way. πŸŽπŸžπŸ§€πŸͺ🍬 We stubbled across this sign advertising the BFG in Italian! We thought it was pretty funny! It says the GGG (Grande Giante Gentle) or something like that!

Tomorrow we are going to Pompeii which Milla will blog about! Another early morning and a long train ride ahead. It's still very exciting though. Really loving Rome so far. I ❤️ Rome!
