Wimbledon VIP tour by Harvey

A friend of a friend works as a change room attendant at Wimbeldon.  He took us on a tour and it wasn't just an ordinary tour.  He took us to places that you don't normally get to go.  We got to go to Centre court.

Centre Court is the most famous tennis court in the world.  The grass is exactly 8mm long.  The plant the grass from seed.  Every blade of grass is an individual blade.
It doesn't spread like our grass in Australia.  We saw the Royal box.
The outside courts all face the same way north to south so that the players don't look in the sun.   They all have an electric fence around them to stop the foxes.  The foxes come in and wee on the grass and this kills the grass.  The shape of the land is a triangle.  They have big plans and lots of money.
They are currently putting a roof on court 1.

We saw where all the TV studios are and where the players do there interviews.
He showed us where the players eat and their own area.
Did you know there is a hairdresser at Wimbledon?
There is also one resident hawk that scares away all the pigeons.

Garry gave us chocolates and tennis balls.  He also let us go to the Wimbledon museum for free.  The virtual reality experience was excellent.

We were very lucky.

  3. Very jealous of your Wimbledon tour. Moonee Beach is providing us with our own highlights reel. Wish you were here where it is much warmer. No jumpers required. We will need to make sure that our paths cross in 2017. It has been too long.
