The London Underground by Harvey

The tubes are very efficient and there are tonnes of trains on all the lines.  Sometimes it is less than a minute between trains.  London has also got a lot of overground trains.
I have been the one finding the lines and platforms.  It is an important job because we are all really tired and could easily find ourselves on the other side of london!
Our closest tube station is Willesden Green.
It is a 5 minute walk from our place.  It's on the Jubilee line which is the grey one.  We are in zone 2.  We have an Oyster card.  I always go through the gate with dad and the girls go through with mum.  Kids are free if you're under 11.

Some of the stations have escalators that are about 3 storeys high.  You have to stand on the right side and let people pass you on the left.  This feels weird.
The new tubes are deeper down in the ground.  They also have only one line and small tunnels.  It gets really windy when a train is coming because it is pushing the wind down the tunnel.
When I go back to London I will easily know my way around.

  3. I always let Auntie Brooke find the right line. She is much better than I am. I get lost
